Erik Champion talks about the Makerspace

Curtin University Professor of Cultural Visualisation and UNESCO Chair of Cultural Visualisation and Heritage, Professor Erik Champion enjoys being a part of the Makerspace community. He has participated in Makerspace events, run events with the Makerspace, supervised students and written book chapters with Makerspace staff. Some of Erik’s Makerspace highlights were facilitating sessions on augmented and virtual reality, hands on demos with postgraduates, seminars and workshops on 3D models and cultural heritage, and a competitive cultural makathon.

“With the new Makerspace, there is plenty of opportunity for even bigger and bolder projects in the virtual reality space. A chance for making creative things, therapeutic things, learning skills and developing both art work and practical applications.’
